IonQ Gains Street-High Price Target as Quantum Computing Ambitions Impress Analysts
Quantum computing pioneer IonQ has captured Wall Street's attention with its trapped-ion technology approach, earning a new street-high price target from top-ranked Needham analyst Quinn Bolton. The company's 2025 Analyst Day showcased a roadmap targeting 2 million physical qubits and 80,000 logical qubits by 2030—a scale that WOULD dwarf current industry benchmarks.
IonQ's upcoming Tempo system promises a computational space 36 quadrillion times larger than IBM's Heron quantum processor. With gate fidelity already reaching 99.97% and predictions of 99.99% accuracy, the Maryland-based firm is positioning itself as a potential leader in the nascent quantum sector. "IONQ is emerging as one of the industry's most likely leaders due to its technology roadmap, DEEP management bench and well capitalized balance sheet," Bolton noted.
